In today’s world it is of utmost importance for people to take good care of their bodies. We live in a world filled with many toxins in our internal and external environments. There are many ways to help us maintain optimum health. Here are a few of the techniques that we have found most beneficial.
Personal Touch- During the retreat we offer personal touch as we come together and share. This is a very beneficial means of creating a safe space to share while allowing each participant to open his/her heart to another person through touch. On certain days during our retreat, we will gather and share with one another neck and shoulder rubs. Everyone benefits from this exchange; both the giver and the receiver.
Foot Soaks- This beautiful experience allows each individual to be honored and adored. You are gently seated in a comfortable share while someone gives you a warm and soothing soak for the feet in Hawaiian Salts to pull out any toxins. After the salt soak, the person chooses some essential oils of his/her liking and deepens into relaxation with the many benefits of the oils. Afterwards, the feet are patted dry and rubbed with a gentle massage lotion or oil.
Poi & Herbal Masks- Poi is a stable in the Hawaiian diet. It comes from the Taro plant and contains many beneficial enzymes for the body. Additionally it makes is a wonderful conditioner and body tonic for the body. We mix the poi with some herbs to combine an array of quality substances for the body mask. The individual is asked to lie down in a comfortable position to receive the body mask application. She/he is then wrapped in a sheet while listening to some gentle soothing sounds and receiving the many benefits of these plant based matter. This application is very beneficial to the skin and as well as the mind, body, and spirit. Everyone enjoys this treatment.
Warm Salt Packs- This ancient remedy has been used by several cultures to relax the mind, body, and spirit, as well as remove toxins from the body. It is deeply cleansing and beneficial in many ways. The salt is warmed over the stove and applied to the individual on the mid-section of the body. Each person will partake in their own preparation and ceremony to deepen his/her sense of self to be able to utilize the many benefits of this treatment.
